As part of the rehousing programme Aylesbury tenants have two options available to them they can choose to either;
— move to a new housing association property,
— or move to existing council housing within the borough using the homesearch system.
A dedicated team of officers known as the rehousing team will visit every tenant on the estate to assess their needs in a new home. This process is known as referencing.
New homes for tenants will be built by housing associations. Assessment of the housing needs of tenants will guide the size and type of new properties to be built, and will ensure there are sufficient properties of the right size and type to rehouse all tenants who select this option.
Tenants who wish to remain as council tenants will be able to choose accommodation within an existing council property by bidding through the homesearch scheme. Secure tenants being rehoused by the council as part of the redevelopment will be entitled to compensation for the loss of their home.
