Consultation & Engagement

It is vital Aylesbury residents are actively engaged in the regeneration programme, as we want to ensure their needs are met in the new area.  We have held a variety of consultation events over the last two years to ensure that residents are informed about the scheme as it progresses. Consultation also provides an opportunity for residentsto have their say about the changes to the area.  Residents sit on advisory groups such as the Aylesbury Regeneration Steering Group and the rehousing sub group.

As part of the consultation around the overall plan for the new area – the Area Action Plan (AAP) we formed a ‘neighbourhood team’ comprising community leaders, resident representatives, council representatives, local businesses, schools, faith representatives, and representatives from the voluntary sector. The neighbourhood team took part in a series of urban design training sessions that will enable them to help shape the AAP for the new area. They also ensured that information regarding the AAP was communicated to residents and various sectors of the community affected by the plans.

The neighbourhood team  also put together a charter. This document brings together a wide range of views from the community and provide the community’s statement of desire, intent and purpose when forming the new area.
